May 17, 2018: NJHA to Host Trends in Nursing Workforce: Strategies for Optimal Care


Join NJHA May 24 for an in-depth discussion on modern nursing workforce trends to promote high-value care for healthcare consumers. National experts, nursing leaders, policymakers and front-line RNs will join this important dialogue on healthy work environments, staff empowerment, shared governance and innovations in workforce.

 

Keynoting the event is Peter Buerhaus, PhD, RN, FAAN, who is nationally recognized for his research, especially in reshaping public policy regarding the nursing shortage. He is director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Workforce Studies in the Institute for Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and previously served as the senior associate dean for research at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.

The other featured speaker is Robert G. Hess Jr., PhD, RN, FAAN, executive vice president of education content and credentialing for OnCourse Learning, a web resource committed to staff development for nurses, physicians, pharmacists and 15 other groups of allied health professionals. Under his leadership, OnCourse Learning has grown into the largest continuing education provider for RNs.

Speakers will be followed by a robust panel discussion of New Jersey’s challenges and successes in providing the most optimal environment for patient care.
