More than 130 NJHA members today participated in a webinar with Livanta, New Jersey’s Beneficiary and Family Centered Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC-QIO), which is responsible for conducting audits of inpatient stays of less than two midnights.
Livanta’s team provided NJHA members with a refresher on the role of the BFCC-QIO and did an in-depth presentation on the revisions to the audit procedures that took effect in September.
Hospitals should expect to receive requests for records twice a year; claims are selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services based on each hospital’s volume of Medicare payments.
