Apr. 22, 2016: NJHA Leadership Summit Speaker to Address Board Structure, Performance


Bill Ryan of the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University and faculty at Harvard Kennedy School will share his expertise at the NJHA Institute for Quality and Patient Safety’s Leadership Summit June 3 in Princeton.

Ryan will discuss “Raising the Bar on Board Performance.” Beyond the fundamentals of recruiting talented board members and using best practices, Ryan will present a framework for distinguishing the key elements of a board’s highest value work and the practical implications. Attendees will consider the roots of perennial board pitfalls – from rubber-stamping to micro-managing – and the mindset, skill set and practices needed to avoid them.
