The NJHA Institute for Quality and Patient Safety’s 13th Annual Leadership Summit, to be held Sept. 11 at NJHA, brings to New Jersey a lineup of national thought leaders in quality and patient safety.

  • Leah Binder, chief executive officer of The Leapfrog Group, will discuss The Leapfrog Group’s vision for healthcare transparency in improving safety, quality and efficiency. All industry leaders, whether they look to Leapfrog’s data releases with eagerness or dread, recognize the group’s influential role in this national dialogue.
  • Christine Cassel, MD, president and CEO of the National Quality Forum, will lead a discussion about the essential role of data and measurement in accelerating the industry’s work to improve health and healthcare.
  • And Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Kerry Anne McGeary, senior program officer of research evaluation and learning, will discuss the Foundation’s ambitious strategy to improve health through widespread culture change, with hospitals playing a very important role in supporting and contributing to this culture of health.

In addition, Dr, Jose Rojas, MD, FACHE, chief medical officer and senior managing partner of the New Jersey Center for Pain and Rehabilitation, will moderate an American College of Healthcare Executives panel discussion with panelists sharing their perspectives on the ethical challenges in healthcare leadership. Panelists include Philip Driscoll of the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation; Maureen Eisner of Saint Clare’s Health System; and Maureen Lavin of the College of Saint Elizabeth.
