PRINCETON – The New Jersey Hospital Association welcomed John Slotman as vice president of Graduate Medical Education Policy and Teaching Hospital Issues, NJHA President and CEO Betsy Ryan announced.

Slotman will be responsible for focusing NJHA’s efforts related to teaching hospitals, GME and medical residencies. He also will lead NJHA’s Teaching Hospital Constituency Group.

“We are excited to have John join NJHA’s senior staff team,” said Ryan. “While teaching hospitals and GME have always been a priority for NJHA, John will now provide a singular focus to these issues.”

New Jersey is home to 48 teaching hospitals that provide education, training and research opportunities for the next generation of physicians and other healthcare professionals.

With more than 14 years of experience in healthcare policy and advocacy, Slotman most recently served as part of the healthcare regulatory and policy team in the Washington, D.C., office of DLA Piper. Previously, he served as part of the federal relations team at the American Hospital Association and as staff to a senior member of the U.S. House of Representatives as well as the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means. 

A native of Moorestown, N.J., Slotman earned his B.A. in Political Science and French from Drew University. He currently resides in Alexandria, Va., with his wife Jessica and son Benjamin, and is in the process of relocating back to New Jersey.
