Jan. 26, 2012: Menendez, Litvak to Help Launch Partnership for Patients-NJ Jan. 30


PRINCETON, N.J. – Partnership for Patients-NJ, New Jersey’s new hospital engagement network under contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will officially launch its effort Jan. 30 with a forum featuring U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and Eugene Litvak, PhD, of the Institute for Healthcare Optimization.

Registration and continental breakfast is available at 8 a.m., with the program set to being at 9 a.m. Dr. Litvak is tentatively scheduled to speak at 9:40 a.m., with Sen. Menendez scheduled for approximately 10 a.m. The program will be followed by a luncheon at 12:45 p.m.

The event will be held at the NJHA Conference and Event Center, 760 Alexander Road, Princeton, NJ 08543.

Additional speakers will include Dr. Jaime Torres, regional director for the U.S. Department of Health and Senior Services Region II, and Dr. C. Daniel Smith, surgeon-in-chief, professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida.

NJHA’s nonprofit affiliate Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey is one of 26 organizations nationwide selected by CMS to bring the nationwide Partnership for Patients quality improvement initiative to their states and regions. Partnership for Patients-NJ will include hospitals, post-acute healthcare providers, clinicians, policymakers, community groups and others, all working together to make healthcare better.
