Apr. 08, 2019: Seminar Series Addresses Major Medicare Changes for Home Health

NJHA and the Home Care and Hospice Association of New Jersey today kicked off a seminar series to assist home health agencies with the most significant change in home health Medicare reimbursement in more than a decade.

The seminar series will extend into mid-July.

The Payment Drive Groupings Model (PDGM) finalized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services last year will take effect Jan. 1, 2020. It will completely refocus Medicare funding on the characteristics of home health patients and away from resources as the driver of payment.

This change requires operational, coding and clinical changes for home health agencies to remain stable and successful.

Today’s session delved into the operational imperatives of PDGM and featured Simione Healthcare Consultants as faculty.

Future sessions will be held May 15, June 18 and July 11. Registration is open for the future sessions and is recommended for home health agencies and hospital and post-acute case management staff who refer to home health agencies. Click here to register.
