Aug. 25, 2017: DOH Announces Grant for Military, Veterans Healthcare Integration


The New Jersey Department of Health announced a one-year, $500,000 grant opportunity for healthcare providers to support a pilot program to integrate care for military members, veterans and first responders.

The pilot program would integrate primary care, behavioral health, palliative care, hospice and telehealth services for the state’s servicemen and women, veterans and emergency personnel.

“This investment in integrated comprehensive health services will further ensure our military, veterans, and first responders receive the care and services they need in an accessible, efficient and coordinated way,” said Health Commissioner Cathleen D. Bennett. “These populations deserve access across the health care continuum to protect their health and maintain quality of care throughout their lives.”

The grant is open to New Jersey hospitals, health systems, federally qualified health centers or state university providers of behavioral health services. A letter of intent to apply is due by 3 p.m., Sept. 8, and application are due by 3 p.m., Sept. 29.
