September Marks National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month

About one in five children in the United States has obesity, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While certain groups of children are more affected than others, children with obesity are at a higher risk for having other chronic health conditions and diseases such as asthma, sleep apnea, bone and join problems and type-2 diabetes. National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month shines a light on this serious health condition and ways that communities can support children and their families.
