Healthy People 2030

HHS released Healthy People 2030 objectives for the next decade, including priorities for emerging public health threats like COVID-19 and, for the first time, social determinants of health.

NJHA’s Victoria Brogan serves on the NJDOH’s Healthy New Jersey 2030 Advisory Council, made up of a dozen public health leaders from across the state who have been charged with developing a new set of evidence-based, objectives to improve the health of all New Jerseyans.  COVID-19 impacted Healthy New Jersey’s work at the state level, and a new date to release New Jersey’s new objectives has been scheduled for December.

Healthy People 2030 is the nation's 10-year plan for addressing the most critical public health priorities and challenges. The plan includes 355 objectives with 10-year targets. In addition to emerging public health threats and social determinants, HHS also highlighted objectives related to opioid use disorder and youth e-cigarette use.
