Oct. 10, 2016: NJHA Kicking Off Year-Long ICU Safety Program

NJHA is hosting a kickoff event Nov. 3 for the state launch of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Safety Program for ICUs: CLABSI/CAUTI.

The American Hospital Association’s Health Research and Educational Trust is enrolling intensive care units from specific regions across the United States to take part in the AHRQ Safety Program for ICUs: CLABSI/CAUTI. This 12-month national program is designed to reduce or eliminate central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) in critical care settings. Enrollment is still available to hospitals that have yet to sign up.

The program uses the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) and evidence-based practices to reduce CLABSIs and CAUTIs.

NJHA is part of the second cohort of the AHRQ Safety Program for ICUs and is serving as the state lead for the collaborative. NJHA will host the in-person educational session for the program Nov. 3 at NJHA’s Conference and Event Center in Princeton. Registration is open for this complementary session.
