July 21, 2016: NJHA Graduates First I CODE Program Students

A new cohort of advance-trained medical coders graduated from the NJHA Healthcare Business Solutions I CODE Coder Mentoring Program today, the first class of “graduates” to complete the program.

HBS officially launched its I CODE program in April, with two member hospitals participating as well as several independent students looking to refine their coding expertise and launch their coding careers. Today marks the completion of the 12-week intense program where the students gained an advanced understanding of coding and navigating electronic medical records. They are now on their way to being productive and experienced ICD-10 coders.

Facilities interested in learning how the I CODE Mentor program can help to internally develop new coders, or interested in hiring the graduating independent participants, should contact Tim Keough or Maureen Barrie at 609-936-2200.
