Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield formally announced a new payer-provider alliance, Omnia Health Alliance.

The alliance will include six health systems encompassing 22 hospitals and a multi-specialty physician group in a new model that Horizon says will devote “significant intellectual and financial resources” in a collaborative approach to population health management, coordinated care and incentives for better health outcomes, improved patient satisfaction and lower costs.

Today’s announcement did not provide specific details, but Horizon officials said they plan to unveil a new suite of products for next year that will offer lower premiums and reduced out-of-pocket costs for consumers.
