The New Jersey Hospital Association is the premier advocate of New Jersey hospitals and their systems where the mission of the NJHA Institute for Quality and Patient Safety is to support healthcare providers as they work to improve the quality and safety of patient care.
This Web site provides valuable resources and opportunities for healthcare professionals to stay informed about quality and patient safety in all care settings in New Jersey. Among its objectives, the NJHA Institute for Quality and Patient Safety:
- Advocates and provides leadership for the ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare services and the enhancement of patient safety;
- Improves the performance of healthcare facilities in New Jersey in processes and outcomes of care as reflected in data related to various clinical quality indicators.
- Identifies and validates best practices in clinical practice and patient safety and sponsors educational forums designed to disseminate these practices;
- Identifies technologies and computerized information systems that can reduce the potential for error, thereby improving clinical outcomes and patient safety.
