Seasonal influenza typically strikes in the fall and winter months, but there are new variant forms of influenza developing all the time. Healthcare providers play an important role in planning and responding to influenza of all types.   1. Get a flu vaccine
  2. Halt the spread of germs
  3. Use antiviral drugs if your healthcare provider prescribes them
