NJHA is offering an online education session June 8 at 10 a.m. to review the latest research and medical highlights regarding people with complications and residual effects of COVID-19, commonly called COVID long haulers. LW Consulting will provide the presentation which will address the clinical, functional and psychosocial needs of individuals in long term care settings, such as nursing homes and assisted living communities. These individuals have increased clinical and psychosocial needs, may require increased assistance to perform basic functional tasks and lack the stamina to actively participate in facility activities without increased rest periods, which directly impacts staffing and other organizational resources. Skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, therapy contract providers, social workers, therapeutic recreation teams and PACE organizations are among those who can benefit from this important and timely program.
