New Travel Guidance

The CDC released new guidance for air travel for those who are vaccinated against COVID-19. The guidance states that those who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine can travel safely within the United States and do not need to follow prior restrictions regarding self-quarantine. It also states that fully vaccinated travelers do not need to get tested before or after travel, unless their destination requires it.

This guidance does not provide any specific language regarding healthcare workers, but NJHA will seek clarification from NJDOH and CDC to see if this new guidance changes existing quarantine requirements that apply to healthcare personnel.

The CDC continues to emphasize precautions such as face masking, hand washing and social distancing, where possible. The CDC also recommends that individuals delay travel until they are fully vaccinated.
