There’s still time to register for a complimentary NJHA webinar Sept. 18 and in-person conference Oct. 16 to brief healthcare professionals on human trafficking and the unique role they can play in detecting such crimes.
Nurses and other healthcare providers who encounter victims of trafficking often don't realize it, and opportunities to intervene are lost. Although no one sign can demonstrate with certainty when someone is being trafficked, there are several indicators that clinicians should know.
Having a Human Trafficking Response Program in place usually leads to the victim being identified and rescued and fosters a collaborative relationship between law enforcement agencies, victim service providers and the community.
This program, “Human Trafficking Detection for the Healthcare Professional,” will help attendees identify human trafficking victims in a healthcare setting and learn what actions should be taken when trafficking is suspected.
Faculty for this program include: Human Trafficking Investigations & Training Institute, Front Royal and the Human Trafficking Response & Social Disparities Training.
