May 01, 2019: NJHA Joins with Healthcare Partners for Emergency Preparedness Program June 3

NJHA is partnering with several other healthcare organizations to present Thinking Outside the Box: Bolstering Response Capabilities, Building Partnerships and Preparing for the Unexpected. The program will be held June 3 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe.

Held in collaboration with the Health Care Association of New Jersey, Leading Age New Jersey, N.J. Association of County and City Health Officials and the Home Care and Hospice Association of New Jersey, the program will address preparedness topics across the continuum to protect health security.

Ongoing events, both natural and man-made, have demonstrated how critical it is for health systems locally and across the country to be ready and able to respond quickly and effectively.

Faculty for this program include:

  • Amy Herman who will guide attendees through methods to change the way they view and respond to events through The Art of Perception
  • Sheri Fink, author of Five Days at Memorial and War Hospital, who will share unique circumstances that challenge the way healthcare organizations prepare
  • Ocean County Public Health Department’s Mukesh Roy and Daniel Regenye, along with Dr. Hillel Peltz from CHEMED Health Center, to discuss challenges, partnerships and best practices from their experiences during a measles outbreak
  • Elya Baltazar and Rebecca Lis from Northwest Healthcare Response Network who will share their experiences working with community partners to increase medical surge capabilities and share a preparedness curriculum to build community resilience for a disaster.

This program is intended for physicians, nurses, hospital administrators, long term care facility administrators, social workers, compliance officers, quality improvement managers, public health professionals, hospice, home health care providers and EMS.

There is a $25 registration fee and credits will be provided. Click here for more information and to register.
