NJHA is hosting “Ethical Interactions with Elected Officials, Lobbying and Political Activity for Hospitals” March 25 at the NJHA Conference and Event Center. Continuing Legal Education credits will be provided and include 2.5 hours of total CLE credit for ethics/professionalism.

This program is intended to provide a detailed overview of hospital interactions with elected officials and political candidates, including information for both nonprofit and for-profit hospitals. In addition to a substantive overview of the applicable laws, the presentation will include strategies for compliance.

Specific topics include:

• Gift and entertainment rules for New Jersey elected officials
• Lobbying restrictions and requirements under both IRS standards and New Jersey law
• Political-activity and government-contracting considerations for hospitals.
