NJHA is hosting “Ethical Interactions with Elected Officials, Lobbying and Political Activity for Hospitals” March 25 at the NJHA Conference and Event Center.
This program is intended to provide a detailed overview of hospital interactions with elected officials and political candidates, including information for both nonprofit and for-profit hospitals. In addition to a substantive overview of the applicable laws, the presentation will include strategies for compliance.
Specific topics include:
- Gift and entertainment rules for New Jersey elected officials
- Lobbying restrictions and requirements under both IRS standards and New Jersey law
- Political-activity and government-contracting considerations for hospitals.
Continuing Legal Education credits will be provided and include 2.5 hours of total CLE credit for ethics/professionalism.
