Jan. 10, 2019: Spots Available for Seminar on Building Relationships in Senior Living

NJHA, along with LeadingAge New Jersey, is offering an interactive learning seminar, in locations across the state, focusing on providing an engaging environment for older adults and the staff who care for them.

Person-centered care in senior living requires meaningful conversation and relationships with residents, staff and families. The “Creating Authentic Relationships with Staff and Residents in Senior Living” seminar will focus on how to provide a more engaging environment for older adults and the staff who are their caregivers. Through interactive learning, participants will gain an empathic awareness of aging so that they can deepen their understanding of how to be more compassionate, how to create richer relationships with residents and one another and how to improve quality of life for residents and greater satisfaction in the workplace.

Attendees should include skilled nursing, assisted living, life plan community, independent living staff including leadership, nurses and CNAs, marketing, food service, recreation, social work and housekeeping.

Dates and locations for the seminar are:

  • Jan. 22 at The Evergreens in Moorestown
  • Jan. 23 at NJHA in Princeton, and
  • Jan. 24 at Daughters of Israel in West Orange.
