Apr. 12, 2019: Spots Still Available for Emerging Infectious Disease Workshop

Register today for NJHA’s “Ebola and Emerging Infectious Disease Workshop” April 17 at the NJHA Conference and Event Center.

The federal government has announced that all healthcare facilities must be made aware of the Ebola virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the response efforts by multiple agencies. Healthcare facilities are advised to ensure appropriate travel histories are conducted on all patients.

Workshop attendees will be able to assess their healthcare facility’s capabilities of rapidly identifying, isolating and stabilizing a patient under investigation (PUI), while maintaining patient and healthcare worker safety. Healthcare facilities must know their role within the response, and who to contact to coordinate PUI transfer to an assessment hospital and/or treatment center.

NJHA Emergency Management has partnered with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, the New Jersey Department of Health and The National Ebola Training and Education Center to bring up-to-date information and best practices to New Jersey’s frontline hospitals.

This program is intended for teams from frontline hospitals to include the emergency manager, infection preventionist and nurse manager.

Registration is complimentary and continuing education credits will be provided.
