June 22, 2018: NJHA to Host Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative Learning Session

NJHA’s Institute for Quality and Patient Safety will host its Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative In-Person Session July 25.

The collaborative promotes quality care and patient safety by emphasizing the appropriate agent, dose, duration and route of administration of antimicrobial agents both in the acute care and post-acute care settings. The program will include updates from key stakeholders in antimicrobial stewardship in New Jersey and innovative practices in acute care, long-term care and outpatient settings.

In addition, collaborative teams are asked to create and present a storyboard/poster outlining their efforts in implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs. Topics could include:

  • Stewardship strategies that have had the greatest impact on patient outcomes
  • Stewardship interventions that have helped reduce healthcare costs, or
  • Successes/challenges with stewardship.
