The April edition of New Jersey Business magazine features a special section dedicated to celebrating NJHA’s 100th Anniversary. The collaboration between NJHA and New Jersey Business benefits the Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey’s health professions scholarships.
“NJHA 2018: A Century of Caring” highlights the achievements of NJHA and its members since the formation of the association in 1918.
“Our legacy includes being the first state to promote the use of penicillin, of creating a precursor to the Blue Cross insurance program, and being one of just two states in the nation to require all hospitals to provide care to anyone who enters their doors regardless of their ability to pay,” said Cathy Bennett, in the President’s Letter. “More recently, we’ve used innovative collaboratives and data to focus on ways to keep our patients well and the factors of their lives and environment that may be barriers to good health. Each and every day, the work that we do has the potential to be historic for the people in our care.”
Features include a historical overview of NJHA and New Jersey providers, a report on economic benefits the healthcare community provides to the state, a review of innovative collaboratives solving healthcare challenges and a timeline of key milestones during NJHA’s 100-year history.
