Sept. 01, 2017: NJHA, New Jersey Nurse Initiatives to Host Writing for Publication Workshop

NJHA and New Jersey Nurse Initiatives will co-sponsor a workshop Sept. 27, Being Strategic & Successful in Professional Publication.

Healthcare professionals in all settings – clinical practice, academia and management – have exciting ideas and innovations that would be beneficial to share with others. However, many are not familiar with the writing and publishing process and thus sharing through the professional literature, a traditional communication channel, can be a daunting tasks.

Speaker Dr. Leslie Nicoll will use “Manuscript Success” as a method to demystify the publishing process and provide practical evidence-based strategies for achieving publication goals. Using presentation, audience participation, questions and discussion, participants will gain knowledge and confidence in how to write manuscripts that will be favorable received by editors and reviewers. Identifying and overcoming pitfalls, ethical issues and effective use of resources also will be discussed.

This workshop will address the five steps in the manuscript success process, journal due diligence and its importance, plagiarism, ethical issue related to authorship and realistic timeline for developing a scholarly portfolio.

Physicians, nurses, directors of quality, pharmacists, long term care administrators, assisted living administrators, clinical and non-clinical educators are encouraged to attend this full-day session at NJHA’s Conference and Event Center.

Education credits will be provided.  Click here to register.
