NJHA Healthcare Business Solutions, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health equipped all New Jersey Medicare-and-Medicaid certified nursing homes with 10 complimentary copies of the 4th edition of the Pocket Guide to Pressure Ulcers. The pocket guide was written by wound care experts Dr. Elizabeth Ayello and Dr. Jeffrey Levine.
The DOH has made this possible through the designation of civil monetary penalty (CMP) funds that are allocated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the purpose of quality improvement. Distribution of the pocket guide coincides with national pressure injury prevention day, which is Nov. 16.
The pocket guide contains descriptions, color photographs, illustrations and charts to help clinicians in all care settings accurately identify, stage, document and treat pressure ulcers.
