Nov. 07, 2017: Due Date for S-10 Revisions Extended to Jan. 2

Hospitals planning to submit revised Worksheet S-10 data for their fiscal years 2014 and 2015 Medicare cost reports now have additional time.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services extended the due date for S-10 revisions to Jan. 2. The extension provides an additional nine weeks beyond the previous deadline of Oct. 31.

The revised S-10 data will not be used to calculate Disproportionate Share Hospital payments for FY 2018, but it will be available in future years if CMS chooses to calculate DSH payments using FY 2014 or 2015 data. CMS expects worksheets received by Dec. 2 to be reflected in the proposed rules for FY 2019, and worksheets received by Jan. 2, 2018 will be reflected in the final rules for FY 2019.

Earlier this month, CMS released additional changes to the Worksheet S-10 instructions.
