May 26, 2017: Spots Still Available for Facility Safety Code Updates Session

Spots are still open for a two-day educational session, “Application of NFPA 99 in Health Care Facilities & Managing Life Safety: The 2012 Edition,” to be held June 19 and 20 at NJHA.

In July 2016, the 2012 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 99 took effect and surveyors have been inspecting facilities using the new code since November 2016. NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code provides minimum healthcare facility requirements covering a broad spectrum of applications. The 2012 edition includes the most extensive changes since the inception of NFPA 99, including the change from a standard to a code and the shift to a risk-based approach.

Day one of this program examines each topic area covered by the 2012 edition of NFPA 99. Where pertinent, other codes and standards will be examined to provide a more complete understanding of NFPA 99 and how it is applied to healthcare facilities. Day two of the program will focus on providing participants with the information and resources needed to manage a healthcare facility’s life safety program.

This program is targeted for healthcare facility managers and directors, environmental and safety managers. LNHA/CALA credits will be provided. Those who attend both days will receive 1.5 ASHE/AHA CEUs. Click here to register.
