July 20, 2017: Grow Your Own Coding Experts with NJHA Program

A conundrum many health information management directors and coding managers often face is where to find well-trained and experienced coders to assure a smooth revenue cycle and quality coding. Despite efforts to manage and retain coders, there are times when vacancies or volume growth requires recruitment.

NJHA Healthcare Business Solutions believes the best option is to develop a coder talent pool within your own organization. That’s why HBS developed the I Code Mentor program for both inpatient and now outpatient coders – recognizing that time is limited and it’s difficult to devote the hours and focus required to provide “book-trained” coders with much-needed hands-on coding education, applied coding and constructive feedback.

The I-Code Program is an interactive, web-based education program that helps existing coders hone skills and delivers to new coders an intense, hands-on coding experience to overcome the “experience gap.” These are not pre-recorded sessions; students interact with the instructor in real time.

The next I-Code Mentor program begins in early August: two hours per day, two days a week, for 26 weeks. It’s not too late to sponsor a student coder. Call today for the details.
