Gov. Christie signed into law a measure requiring medical professionals to educate children and teenagers, or their guardian, about the potential dangers of opioids prior to issuing a prescription.
Under the law, the prescriber is required to make a note in the patient’s medical record that the conversation took place. The law takes effect immediately.
