Aug. 14, 2017: New Jersey Well Represented in U.S. News’ Annual Hospital Rankings


Spanning metropolitan regions and specialties, New Jersey is well represented in the annual listing of “top hospitals” from U.S. News and World Report.

Nearly half of the top-ranked hospitals in the New York City metropolitan area – 17 out of 37 – are in New Jersey. New Jersey hospitals also appear among the top-ranked hospitals in the Philadelphia region.

Among medical specialties, New Jersey hospitals are listed in the top 50 nationally in areas such as cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, urology and rehabilitation, where U.S. News ranks Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in the nation’s top three.

The news magazine also ranks children’s hospitals, where New Jersey hospitals also are cited in a number of specialties.
