Dec. 29, 2016: NJHA-HBS to Host New Webinar on New I Code Program

NJHA Healthcare Business Solution’s new program I Code is an interactive, web-based education program designed to help existing coders hone skills and new coders to overcome the “experience gap.”

This comprehensive, interactive program includes 51 lectures totaling 81 hours over a six-month period which covers all body systems and coding scenarios.

NJHA-HBS will host an I Code webinar Jan. 5 from 1 to 1:30 p.m. to discuss how this new program can help create a coding talent pipeline, reduce costs and improve accuracy and compliance risk.

It’s been a little more than one year since hospitals transitioned from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and with proper planning and expertise of healthcare professionals and members, the transition was successful. Moving from 16,000 to more than 155,000 codes, along with the demand for increased documentation specificity, ICD-10 has challenged coding accuracy and productivity. It’s also resulted in a shortage of properly trained coding talent needed for an efficient revenue cycle.
