WHAT: The New Jersey Hospital Association’s annual Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Summit brings together healthcare leaders from across the state to discuss challenges and solutions to the growing demands for mental health and substance use disorder services in New Jersey.

WHO: This year’s event features high-profile state and national speakers providing perspectives on policy and provider innovation:

  • N.J. Gov. Chris Christie, chair of the White House commission on opioid addiction
  • Patrick Kennedy, former Congressman, founder of the Kennedy Forum and co-founder of One Mind and Advocates for Opioid Recovery
  • Drew Pinsky, MD, board-certified internist and addiction medicine specialist also known as TV’s “Dr. Drew,” with Bob Forrest, counselor and contributor to CNN and HLN
  • Donald Parker, president and CEO of the Carrier Clinic, the Belle Mead-based behavioral healthcare system that specializes in substance abuse addiction treatment
  • Mark Rosenberg, DO, chairman of emergency medicine and population health and associate professor of clinical emergency medicine at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System who led the system’s development of opioid-free emergency room services
  • Betsy Ryan, Esq., president and CEO of the New Jersey Hospital Association
