Executive Biographies
Elizabeth A. Ryan, Esq., President-Designee, New Jersey Hospital Association Elizabeth A. Ryan, Esq., is president-designee of the New Jersey Hospital Association, which represents hospitals and healthcare systems across the state. Ryan holds multiple roles in overseeing the Association's legal and legislative activities. As head of NJHA's legislative affairs department, she is responsible for coordinating the organization's advocacy efforts at both the state and federal levels. In addition, she serves as staff to NJHA's Policy Development Committee, which is the body that deliberates and recommends policy to the NJHA Board of Trustees. Ryan also oversees all legal activity for the Association.
Previously Ryan practiced law in Mount Holly and went on to serve as assistant counsel under former Gov. Jim Florio and as chief of staff of the state Department of Health. She also was a senior vice president with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. and a regional executive for the American Hospital Association and the Healthcare Association of New York State. She also served as a member of New Jersey's Board of Medical Examiners, the Clinton-Gore Transition Team and the legal audit team for the Clinton National Health Care Reform Task Force. She served as a member of the Governor James E. McGreevey transition team. She also serves on the Township Council in Florence Township, Burlington County.
Ryan received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. She resides in Florence N.J. with her husband, Sam, and her son, Ryan Kramer.
