NJHA Plain Language Emergency Alert Banner

Hospitals and healthcare facilities around the country are implementing plain language emergency alerts to reduce confusion and improve response times. This implementation guide is designed to provide emergency management staff all of the tools necessary to transition their facilities to plain language alerts.

Plain Language Emergency Alerts are endorsed by the New Jersey State Commissioner of Health.

Included in the toolkit is:

  • A step-by-step implementation guide, including a post-implementation evaluation.
  • A poster to inform staff, patients and guests of the new alert system.
  • A Power Point presentation.
  • A 2-minute education video.
