Successful quality initiatives in assisted living raise the bar for resident satisfaction and quality of life, as well as improve business performance. The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) is committed to leading its membership toward quality and performance excellence in the assisted living profession.
That’s why NCAL and the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) are collaborating on an exciting new venture called the National Patient Safety Organization (PSO) for Assisted Living.
This new collaboration is part of NCAL’s Advocating Care Excellence (ACE) program that houses all of NCAL’s quality programs, tools, and resources including the AHCA/NCAL Quality Initiative for Assisted Living.
The PSO will collect data electronically on important clinical outcomes and processes including:
- hospital readmissions
- off-label use of antipsychotics
- medication errors
- falls and fall assessments
- pressure ulcers
- pain management
- and many others
Data collection will begin January 1, 2014.
