Eleanor Meets Eleanor; Most Distinguished Visitor at A.H.A. Convention

The candid camera captures Miss Eleanor Hamilton, President of the New Jersey Hospital Association, in a happy moment, talking about her own paintings at the Hobby Exhibit with Mrs. Roosevelt. …The Hobby Exhibit, easily first in popularity, was arranged and staged by Otis N. Auer, of Monmouth Memorial Hospital.

Having come to Atlantic City to speak at a dinner honoring Mrs. Eleanor Clark Slagle on her retirement from the Presidency of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt conferred a signal honor on the American Hospital Association by devoting a full hour on Tuesday afternoon to a tour of the Exhibits at Convention Hall. … she displayed again those lovable qualities for which she has become nationally famous; a sincere and understanding interest in all matters concerning human welfare, and a charm of manner which instantly creates a warm response in everyone who has the good fortune to be near.

Among the Exhibits arranged under the direction of members of the New Jersey [Hospital] Association, Mrs. Roosevelt showed particular interest in the Hobby Exhibit staged by Otis Auer, the Architectural Exhibit managed by Charles Lee, and the Pictorial Panorama of New Jersey Hospitals...
