How Does Your Medical Library Stack Up Against Peers?

How does your medical library stack up against its peers in the state, region or nation? The 2004 Medical Library Association Benchmarking Network Survey is available online with interactive reporting: Health Science Library Statistics and Benchmarking Interactive Reports.

The interactive reports are available to participating libraries at no charge with an MLA ID and password. Non-participants may order a report subscription to access the data.

This invaluable and unique resource for hospital libraries provides more than 130 metrics covering the administration, collections, expenditures, utilization and services of medical libraries. It provides comparative information for services such as electronic full-text journals, e-books, consumer health services, wireless local area network, patron PCs, online card catalogs, library Intranet, clinical medical librarian programs, interlibrary loans, reference services, databases and much more.

NJHA Library Director Michelle Volesko Brewer is editor/chair of the MLA Benchmarking Network Editorial Board (BNEB). For more information contact Brewer at 609-275-4230 or webadmin@njha.com.
