Hospital auxiliaries, comprised of community volunteers whose work helps support the healthcare organizations' caring mission, face more challenges than ever before. Changes in society, culture and lifestyles are having an impact on how people give of their time and resources, forcing auxiliaries to adapt accordingly. NJHA turns to its Council on Volunteers for guidance and insight in developing valuable auxiliary resources and programs to enhance continuing auxiliary success.
The Council helps identify and inform hospital and health system auxilians and volunteers about healthcare trends that enhance their service to the organizations and communities. It also encourages auxiliary participation in advocacy, fund raising, health education, community relations and other related activities as needs arise.
