New Jersey is home to a comprehensive network of acute care hospitals, specialty hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and other healthcare facilities committed to delivering quality, compassionate care. They treat 17 million patients annually and respond to another 2.6 million cases in their emergency rooms. In an average year, New Jersey hospitals welcome 115,000 newborns into the world and perform nearly 300,000 surgeries for the sick and wounded.
New Jersey hospitals also provide a critical safety net for individuals who are uninsured or who have no other source of primary healthcare. All told, New Jersey hospitals deliver more than $1 billion in charity care services each year. No one is turned away.
Hospitals' contributions ripple throughout New Jersey, preserving not only the state's health but also its economic well-being. New Jersey hospitals provide 125,000 jobs and $14 billion in annual revenues that drive both state and local economies.

NJHA publishes several newsletters including its flagship, NewsLink Today, for members only, arriving online via e-mail every weekday afternoon. NJHA also publishes more than 100 reports, pamphlets and books listed in the Publications Catalog.
- Scholarship
NJHA awards health career scholarships each year through its affiliate, the Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey. This program typically seeks applicants by July of each year and awards scholarships in September.
